The role
Lead and supervise electrical design activities for a major LNG FEED project, coordinating a multi-office design team and delivering high-quality 3D design using SmartPlant 3D and MicroStation.
Role overview:
You will be responsible for supervising electrical design activities on an LNG FEED project, ensuring that deliverables meet client, safety and quality standards. Working closely with other engineering disciplines, you will lead a team of designers across project offices and provide clear job notes and guidance to ensure consistent, coordinated output.
Key responsibilities:
Lead, coordinate and mentor a small team of electrical designers across project offices.
Plan, allocate and monitor electrical design work to meet FEED project schedules and milestones.
Produce clear job notes / design instructions to guide the wider design team.
Oversee the production and review of 3D models and drawings using SmartPlant 3D and MicroStation.
Ensure designs comply with project specifications, international standards and safety requirements.
Interface with other disciplines (e.g. process, piping, instrumentation, civil/structural) to resolve design issues.
Contribute to design reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs and technical meetings as required.
Required skills and experience:
Proven experience as an Electrical Designer / Electrical Design Supervisor on LNG FEED projects.
Strong hands-on experience with SmartPlant 3D.
Proficient in MicroStation for layout and detailed design.
Demonstrable experience producing job notes / design instructions for design teams.
Track record of managing and coordinating a team of designers across multiple offices or locations.
Solid understanding of electrical design standards and codes within the oil & gas / LNG sector.
Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work closely with multi-discipline teams.
Desirable:
Experience working with major EPC contractors or on large-scale international LNG projects.
Familiarity with other SmartPlant design tools and relevant engineering databases.
Chartered or working towards professional registration (e.g. IET or equivalent).
