We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator within the Industrial new build sector to join the team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction processes and cost control, enabling them to provide accurate estimates & takeoffs for various projects, including revised costs from client change orders and variations to contracted works . This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
- Analyse project plans and specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather relevant data.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and pricing to ensure competitive estimates.
- Prepare and present bid proposals to clients, highlighting key aspects of the project scope and costs.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Assist in the development of cost control measures and strategies for ongoing projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost control practices.
- Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
