We are seeking a skilled Battery Build and Test Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in power system level performance, along with a strong background in battery testing and problem-solving.
The Battery Build and Test Engineer will be responsible for building and testing batteries, ensuring their performance meets the required standards. The successful candidate will also be experienced in the use of testbed software, calibration tools, and test data logging systems.
Key Responsibility Include:
- Conduct and/or direct Build activities of Electrical Powertrain Components.
- Conduct and/or direct Validation Test activities.
- Carry out Data analysis on results and present to Validation Team.
- As Part of Continuous Improvements, you will support/write Process and Safety procedures.
- Collaborate with Facilities Team to ensure any Facility Requirements are understood.
- You will also be required to lead and support activities with external service suppliers where required.
- Co-ordination and build of Electrification Program Products including Testing and Sign off activities.
- Apply deep technical knowledge to data analysis, review and sign off and convert data into decisions.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
The successful Battery Build and Test Engineer will have Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering curriculum or HNC with at least 6 years demonstratable experience in a similar role. You will have excellent interpersonal skill, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Excellent problem solver and be self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
Relevant Experience:
- Experience in power system level performance
- Experienced in the use of testbed software, calibration tools, and test data logging systems.
- Hands on engine testing, Battery testing and problem-solving experience
Previous leadership experience (direct or in-direct), Project Management methods and processes and
experience with development through New Product Introduction (NPI) Process would be desirable.
Job Title – Battery Build and Test Engineer
Location – Peterborough
Type – 12 Month contract
Hours – Monday – Friday, 08.30 start – Predominantly 5 days a week on site.
Salary – up to £17.80 per hour DOE PAYE
