The Design Division is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the dynamic team in Birmingham. They offer a stimulating and rewarding environment where you can contribute to diverse projects across sectors like residential, healthcare, and data centres.
What you’ll do:
- Design and engineer mechanical building services for new and refurbished projects.
- Assist senior engineers in various design stages from feasibility to detailed plans.
- Collaborate with other team members in design meetings and project execution.
- Conduct surveys, design drawings, and specifications for projects.
- Ensure designs meet legal and safety requirements.
- Utilise building services software and CAD tools.
- Select and specify equipment and materials for cost-effective installations.
- Attend project meetings, workshops, and value engineering sessions.
Who we’re looking for:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience aligned with Incorporated Engineer requirements (IMeche or CIBSE).
- Proven ability to design mechanical systems from concept to detailed stages (BSRIA BG6 Stage 4A).
- Expertise in ventilation, cooling, water systems, heating, drainage, and HVAC control principles.
- Experience with Hevacomp / IES or similar software.
- AutoCAD proficiency for interpreting and generating drawings.
- Understanding of Building Regulations Part L compliance.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
